Wind Connections is a licensed Agency since 2002 with a professional approach to find the best candidate for each family. We help both candidates and families find the right match so they can develop an optimal work relationship. We know how important it is to trust people who work and live with you, so our placement solution emphasizes thorough knowledge of both parties to maximize the chances of success. That is why interviews for candidates and families are obligatory. To improve our placement services, we collaborate with well-established partner agencies around the world.
A family with at least one child can employ a Nanny. The Nanny can look after the children unsupervised, as she has the necessary training and/or experience in this field. A normal working week is between 40 and 42 hours a week, but she can work up to 50 hours when necessary. Sometimes, she may also do simple household chores.
Registration fee: CHF 160 (+ CHF 40 outside canton Zürich). It includes a family interview and related administrative tasks to document the family’s profile. This amount is nonrefundable but is valid as long as you need a nanny.
Recruitment and Placement fee: CHF 2'990 (Junior Nanny) or CHF 3'990 (Senior Nanny/full time). This includes the recruitment, selection, and placement of the right candidate. We guide you through the hiring process and prepare the complete file to obtain the necessary residence and work permits for each candidate. We also provide support for the candidate and her family throughout the duration of the contract. Our agency works in collaboration with partner agencies who are responsible for interviewing candidates in their country of origin, as well as checking.
Nanny salary: A nanny's salary varies according to education, experience, number of hours worked, location, market value etc. Nowadays, the market ranges from CHF 4,000 to CHF 6,000 for a qualified full-time nanny.
Vacation: She gets four weeks of paid vacation for one completed year of work.
Taxes, social security contributions (AHV/IV/EO/ALV), pension fund (BVG): The Nanny's salary is taxable and subject to social security contributions and a pension fund (LPP). It is possible to deduct 100% of the taxes and 50% of the social security contributions and pension fund from the Nanny's gross salary.
Private room and board: If the nanny lives with you, it is possible to deduct CHF 990 per month to compensate for the room and board.

A Nanny must have professional experience working with children and/or training in this field, as well as excellent references.

Your interests and positives experiences working with children. Important personal qualities for the job like honesty, reliability, self-confidence, patience, maturity, ability to communicate and listen, ability to handle responsibilities, flexibility and creativity. Good languages skills are also important.
For Nannies, you need to be a EU citizen and have the relevant professional childcare education and experience. You will need to present a degree in childcare related studies.

Andrée Wind, founder and partner of Wind Connections, studied and graduated from the University of Sherbrooke. She holds dual Canadian-Swiss nationality. Before arriving in Switzerland, she gained international experience in America, Europe and Asia through her work at Procter & Gamble. She was a member of the executive committee of the Swiss-Canadian Chamber of Commerce from 2008 to 2023. She can assist you in French, English and German.
